Town Profile Killybegs

Killybegs Killybegs Harbour

Killybegs is home to one of the largest fishing ports and deepwater harbours in Ireland located north of Donegal Bay and sitting at the base of a vast mountainous tract, extending northwards, this town is a must see for the fishing and hillwalking enthusiast.  It is an area enriched in history and culture from fishing to tapestries and Killybegs carpets.

One can meander this picturesque town and relish the long history of the area in the Maritime and Heritage Centre or enjoy a quiet moment in the many coffee shops and even enjoy a taste of the local catch in the restaurants.  For the more adventurous, one can give their hand a go at the ship stimulator, the most modern in Ireland, and a key interest for the young and the not so young as they test their navigation skills.
